Privacy Policy

LocataireQC provides information and organization tools for Quebec tenants. This policy explains how our app and website use information. LocataireQC is independent of the Tribunal administratif du logement and the Government of Québec.

Information you provide

We process account details such as your email, user identifier and any name provided through email, Google or Apple sign-in. Depending on the features you use, we also process rent and housing details, payment records you enter, lease documents, photos, proof files, complaints, assistant questions, analysis results and support messages. If you report an AI answer, the report includes the selected passage, reason, any note you add and your account identifier. Proof storage is limited to 1 GB per account and 25 MB per proof file.

Why we use it and who processes it

We use this information to provide the features you request, manage your account and subscription, respond to support requests, improve the service and meet legal obligations. Supabase provides account and storage services. When you request AI assistance or a lease analysis, the submitted content is sent to our AI service provider, including OpenAI, to produce the result. RevenueCat helps manage subscription access. Google Play on Android and the Apple App Store on iPhone process purchases; LocataireQC does not receive your payment-card number. We do not sell personal information.

Product analytics

The app records interaction events in our service database, including before sign-in. These can include an app-generated device identifier, session identifier, event time, app version, platform, language, device region setting and sign-in method. They help us understand how the app is used. They do not include your account email, lease, proof files, address or rent amount, and they are not sent to Meta. There is currently no separate opt-out for this product analytics collection. A device region setting is not GPS location.

Optional advertising measurement

If you allow advertising measurement in the app, LocataireQC sends Meta (Facebook/Instagram) events about app activation, first rent-tracking setup, and a store-confirmed trial or subscription. These events can include a subscription amount, currency and advertising identifier. They help measure and improve our advertising. If you choose “Don’t allow,” this Meta measurement is not started. We do not include your lease, proof documents, TAL conversations, home address or email in these events.

Optional voice input

Voice input starts when you choose the microphone and grant permission. Speech recognition uses your device’s recognition service and may process audio remotely. You can type instead. The resulting text is used for the feature you selected.

Website cookies

The website uses GoDaddy services and offers a cookie choice for website traffic analysis. Website cookies are separate from the app’s advertising measurement choice.

Account deletion / Suppression du compte

In the app, open Profile → Delete account (Profil → Supprimer mon compte) and confirm. For help, or to request deletion without opening the app, contact support@locataireqc.ca from your account email. State whether you want the entire account deleted or particular documents or data removed. Do not send your password.

Deletion limits and retention

The account-deletion process removes the account and associated user-owned records and uploaded files from the app’s active storage. It does not automatically erase records already held by subscription, advertising or AI providers, their logs or backups. Product analytics identified by an app-generated device identifier are not linked to the account and are not removed by account deletion. Some information may be retained for legal or operational reasons. Contact us for information about retained records and requests involving service providers. Deleting your account does not cancel a store subscription; manage cancellation in Google Play or the Apple App Store.
